The  Government  of  India  is  focused  on  delivering  on  its  motto  of  “minimum
                government, maximum governance” with the adoption of best practices in ICT for
                seamless delivery of citizen-centric information/services. There is a sharp focus on
                using the latest technologies in the digital realm to offer online services and make
                these accessible to all citizens, including those with disabilities.


                Digital India Awards have been instituted under the ambit of National Portal of India,
                a mission mode project of MeitY, with the aim of recognizing and thus encouraging
                more innovative Digital initiatives by government entities across India. The awards
                acknowledge  exemplary  initiatives  of  various  government  entities  in  the  realm  of
                Digital-Governance.


                These awards are conferred under different categories. The categories are reviewed
                regularly  to  ensure  they  are  aligned  with  the  contemporary  digital  governance
                scenario  in  the  country.    The  awards  have  been  biennial  so  far  and  the  previous
                editions have been held in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020. This year the awards
                were conferred in the following categories:



                Digital Empowerment of Citizens


                Digital Initiatives at Grassroots Level

                Digital Initiatives for Ease of Doing Business


                Data Sharing and Use for Socio Economic Development

                Public Digital Platforms - Central Ministries, Departments and States

                Digital Initiatives In Collaboration with Startups


                Best Web & Mobile Initiatives Complying with GIGW &
                Accessibility Guidelines
