The Ministry of Labour & Employment launched
e-Shram portal on 26th August 2021 for creation of
a comprehensive first ever National Database of
Unorganised Workers seeded with Aadhaar for all
types of unorganised workers. It seeks to register an
estimated 38 crores unorganised workers so that
benefits under welfare schemes being implemented for
them may be delivered. After registration on e-Shram
Impact of eShram portal, a Universal Account Number (UAN) is issued to
all unorganised workers. As on 24th November, over
28.42 crore unorganised workers have already been
registered on e-Shram portal.

e-Shram has vast scope, scale, complexity, and futuristic road map in terms of its utilisation, in not only giving
benefits under social security schemes but also in terms of framing policies for unorganised workers, their skill
enhancements and their employability.
e-Shram portal was integrated with NCS portal in March 2022 to provide job opportunities to e-Shram registrants.
The integration has facilitated workers to easily register on NCS by fetching their details using UAN. So far more
than 10 lakhs e-Shram registrants have been registered on NCS portal and over 1.18 lakh e-Shram registrants
have been shortlisted by employers on NCS.

e-Shram provides a comprehensive Dashboard for statistical insights on registration of workers on various
parameters
e-Shram is integrated with PRAYAS portal to provide powerful visualizations, robust analytics, and actionable
insights to the Government
Registration on e-Shram is available through self & assisted mode (i.e., through Common Service Centres and
State Seva Kendra’s (SSKs)
Identification of workforce can be done based on occupation, age, gender, state/ district etc
e-Shram registration is available through web application as well as UMANG mobile application
e-Shram is being integrated with SIP/ ASEEM for providing skilling opportunities to workers registered on e-Shram
e-Shram is integrated with DigiLocker for storing e-Shram cards for anytime access
e-Shram is also in the process to share e-Shram registrant’s data with States so that States can utilize the same
for policy formation/strengthening after due verification and validation of data
