When in a recruitment of Computer operators under
fifteenth finance commission none among more than 500
applicants passed a basic test of computer despite some of
them being B.Tech, Diploma, MCA and BCA degree holders,
the district administration started one centre in the DC
Office to train all such aspirants in the basics of computers.
With a humble start of 1 centre and 300 students the initiative
became an overnight hit and today we have six such centres
with 15 dedicated teachers and 150 computers. In a short
span of 1 year Koderma has created a digital army of close
to 10,000 people. Koderma can be seen as the first district
in India to fulfil the vision of our Honourable Prime Minister
Shri Narendra Modi and National Cyber Security Policy by
creating a huge number of computer literate employable
workforce.

Free of cost (only registration fees) 7 Week Computer Basic Training and 1 week Soft Skills Training, provision for
advance courses, Vocational & Career guidance
6 Centres, 15 Teachers, 150 Computers, 60+ batches of 20 to 30 students running. Concept of Revolving the
infrastructure across schools & Panchayats for meeting the demands
4 Courses of Basic DeGS 1.0, Intermediate DeGS 2.0, Advance DeGS 3.0 and typing Hindi and English DeGS 4.0 are
running
Capacity and vision to train 15000 per year
Close to 1000 got self-employed in CSC and other opportunities as surveyed by the District Employment Office
Impact:
Increased computer literacy of students who can now do their ICT related tasks more efficiently, increased the
employability of the youth of Koderma
Upskilled all Govt. workforce of ANM, Sahiya, Anganwadi workers, School Teachers, PRI members, local
businessmen and new age entrepreneurs
SHG Groups members who in turn become managers of their producer groups, farmer producer organisation
etc. got digitally empowered and have started using computers in their venture
